(this photo was taken at the Subway after a long night of having a great time.)
On Friday May 13, 2011, I turned 30 years old. At first, I was a little bummed to be turning 30, but then I got over it and embraced it. The day started out a little bad, but then turned into one of the BEST birthdays ever.
Erin and I met up with our friend Meg to run a few errands because I had a list of things that I wanted needed to buy.
My little shopping list:
Makeup: I change the type of foundation I use every season
Hoodie: I only brought one hoodie with me to NYC and I lost it the first night.
I ♥ NY t-shirt: I wanted to wear one for my birthday dinner.
Shoes: I brought four pairs of shoes, but wanted some that I could wear all day with most of my outfits. I was looking for Toms Shoes.
Anyhow, I went to go buy makeup and the woman said “do you have another card you could use because this one did not go through” ummm… NO, I do not! I do not have any credit cards just my little old debit card. I was kind of freaking out because I knew I had money—I just was paid and I checked my balance before we left the house. The three of us went to an ATM so that I can pull money out of my account and the ATM said that I did not have enough funds (I freak out easily about my bank account because of the identity theft.) We then go into a bank to talk to a banker , who then told me that bank put a hold on my account. I started crying because I was in NYC without any money in my pocket and the bank was holding my money. I then was told that the hold would be on my account for 24 hours. WHAT THE! Luckily, I had great friends who helped me out on my birthday.
Long story short, the bank put a hold on my account because a week before I left I opened another account. Because of the identity theft, my SSN is flagged and the bank freaked out.
At the end I got all my shopping done and we set off to Brooklyn for dinner. Birthday dinner story coming soon…
Shirt: I ♥ NY bought at a little store in NYC
Glasses:Warby and parker
Skirt:Forever 21
Shoes:Last minute buy because we did not look for Toms. Payless.
Pin: Made my Erin. There were a few different kinds and they all were photos of me with my saying on them.
xoxo,
