If you read my January Goals then you know that one of my goals this month was to leave 200 comments on blogs that I love. I have a bad habit of NOT leaving my Google Reader and just browsing through all the blogs posts in less them 10 minutes. Meaning... I was not reading the whole post and sometimes I was just looking at the photos.
One day I was sitting here getting upset at how low my blog stats were getting and then it hit me. Why would anyone want to take the time to come read my blog and leave a comment, if I was not doing the same for them. Does that make since? I was not taking the time to click out of Google Reader to view the post in its entirety and leave a thoughtful comment.
For the Past 30 (31) days I have been clicking outside Google Reader and visiting all the blogs I love. Here are a few things that I learned about commenting on other peoples blogs
1. I love leaving comments on blogs
2. By leaving comments, other bloggers were leaving comments on my blog
3. My stats have gone up a ton
4. Finding new blogs from other bloggers and comments
5. Seeing all the beautiful blogs out there and their designs
6. Feeling more connected
7. Enjoying my morning blog reading time. I look forward to it everyday
8. I don't really love Google Reader
9. Learning how to be a better blog friend
I loved this goal and I will continue to take the time to leave comments on other blogs. There was something so fulling about this goal and seeing it all the way through.
