Project Life...I started it last year in January and lasted about a week. One of the big reason that I did not last long is because I don't have a photo printer at home. I lost motivation having to wait to get photos printed and then come back and add them to my album. Throughout the year I had a urge to start it up again, but felt like I had to start at the beginning of the year and do it for a year. I felt this creative block from that thought and never worked on PL. In November 2012, I sent and email to one of my favorite bloggers who is PL pro and asked her a few question about getting started. She said to just start. I still held off from starting PL because I wanted to make sure that I was going to really work on it.
Here is the thing... I never print photos and I am not sure I ever will. I love working in Photoshop and I love digital scrapbooking. I have decided that best way for me to work on PL is by doing it digitally.
The Plan:
I am going to be working primarily from the digital Seafoam kit. I will be adding extra embellishments and using other digital products. I want to stick with the kit for the most part to get me started and soon I am sure I will start to do my own thing. I do, however, like the color scheme of the Seafoam kit.
I will be using "week in review" cards by Cathy Zielske for my week in review. I will be adding a lot of photos and journaling, but I love little recaps of the the week because I can't fit everything in.
I will be making 2 page per week layouts and blogging them here every Tuesday. With that said... that does not mean that some weeks will have more pages. If I go on a trip, I want to make sure that I add them to my PL. I don't ever want to feel that I can't fit it all in. I already have a few extra pages that I want to add for this month. I want to add my Holiday trip even though it was in 2012.
I will me taking lots of photos with my phone and my camera. I will be using the app Day One to keep track of what is happening throughout my day/ week. I will be using Evernote for journaling and writing longer stories. I want to keep this whole project digital.
You will be able to follow my Project Life here on the blog and on Flickr.
At the end of the year-- I will go through all my pages and check spelling and make sure all the pages are ready to be printed into a book. I am super excited about the book!
