(Photo taken our last road trip in the middle of no-where)
The Husband and I hate to drive, but we love taking road trips. Our daily commute to and from work is such a pain because we have to deal with traffic, we take the same route everyday, and we always see the same ol' things and usually even the same damn people. When you take a road trip everything is different and sometimes you are seeing new places for the very first time. It's magical!
Over the past year, we have taken so many road trips that it was obvious that Traveling and Adventure just had to be this year's Life Theme. The Husband worked in Hollywood over the weekends for most of the year and would drive down every Friday. Sometimes I would go with him because I love getting out of town and taking mini road trips. The weekly drive to and from LA got pretty old because we had done it so many times. On the way home from our mini Honeymoon, we decided to take the 101 freeway up the Pacific Coast from LA back to San Francisco instead of taking our usual route up the 5. The coastal scenic route took twice as long (12 hours) to get home but the drive was so beautiful that it really was worth it.
Traveling is one of my favorite things to do and I am excited for future road trips with my new little Family. Our next destination is Portland in a week for our Babymoon.
Next week I will be sharing our most recent road trip adventures from Washington, D.C. to Colorado Springs.
