I have always been a BIG fan of goal setting. I don't really set big (long term) goals; I much rather set monthly goals because I feel like it is something that I can achieve. For the past few years I have set monthly goals and shared them here on the blog. This year I let the goal setting slide since I was not blogging as much, but now I am ready to get back into it.
Since I am a little rusty at my goal setting, I re-visited the self-paced workshop "I Choose" on Big Picture Classes taught by Elise Blaha Cripe. If you are looking for a great movtivation to start goal-making, this is a GREAT workshop! I truly got a lot out of it both times that I worked through it.
This month I have decied to make this a "Challenge Month." This is going to sound a little crazy, (trust me, I know!) but I want to do a few 30-Day Challenges.
Blog For 30 Days: I have already made a list of blog posts that I want to work on and I have put them all on a calendar. This challenge is really important to me. I am trying my best to get back into blogging because it is something that I love doing. I feel like it has been a big part of my life for the past seven years and I don't want to let it go. I am working on updating my personal blog story and will share soon.
Photo-A-Day For 30 Days: Another important thing for me to get back into is Photography. I love the idea that I can capture my story with a camera. I love documenting and I don't want to miss a moment because I don't have my camera. Lately, I have been big on taking photos with my phone, but it is not the same thing to me. I love my camera! With this challenge I want to take a photo every day for 30 days with my camera only. I want to get to know my camera again by spending a little more time re-learning settings and functions from the manual and, who knows, maybe I'll learn something new about my camera!
30 Days Of Scrapbooking: My friends like to make fun of me because I love scrapbooking. "Are you a scrapper?" (inside joke) When it comes to scrapbooking, I feel like I have lost my creative juices. I will sit down to make a layout or work on Project Life and at the end feel like everthing looks like crap. When I was art journaling all the time it came easy, but now it feels like I try too hard. With this challenge I want to take it back to the begining and make it simple with no pressure. I belong to a few paper clubs and they are just piling up at our house. I want to make sure that I get my money's worth. This sounds like a hard challenge to me... scrapbook for 30 days? How am I going to pull this one off?? BUT, that is what makes this a good challenge. I have two scrapbooking classes that I am going to work through: "Hello Story" and "31 Things" both taught by Ali Edwards from Big Picture Classes.
Finish A Blog Makeover In 30 Days: I have been wanting to do a blog makeover for a long time now. I will work on the makeover for a few hours everyday. I have made both a to-do list and an action list. This is something that I really need to get done. I want to love visiting my blog again and a lot of stuff needs to be updated.
I would also like to get a lot of knitting done... I need to:
Finish Greg's sweater. (This project is haunting me and I need to get it done)
Knit GG a baby sweater. (I am going to make him a little Stanford "Old Man Cardigan")
Knit September socks. (more on that soon! I am working on a post about sock knitting that will be live on the blog this Tuesday)
What are some of your September goals?
Love your September and LIVE COLORFULLY!
My Reward: I am not going to be hard on myself about finishing all my goals. However, if I do finish all my goals have a little reward planned.
There are a few knitting tools that I wanted and the Husband gave me the ok to buy them if I finish my goals. yay!
